24hr Cycling Event

It’s that time of year again when our elite Birdsall athletes start their rigorous training programme for the RIDE24 event at Goodwood Motor Circuit. The ride takes place on 23^rd June to 24^th June 2012.

The Birdsall team has decided to challenge themselves even further this year by riding the 24hr endurance race solo instead of their usual 4 piece relay team. The physical and mental strain is going to be completely gruelling, not to mention those dreaded saddle sores!

The challenge sees teams and riders racing night and day around the 2.4mile circuit. The rider or team with the most completely laps will be crowned the RIDE24 Champions.

The event raises money for Action Medical Research who is the leading UK medical research charity dedicated to helping babies and children.

Their goals are to make a difference in:

• Tackling premature birth and treating sick and vulnerable babies
• Helping children affected by disability, disabling conditions and infections
• Targeting rare diseases that together severely affect many forgotten children
