Birdsall Complete 24 Hour Cycling Relay Race

Ride 24 track race took place on the 19th & 20th of June at the infamous Top Gear Track. This event was to raise money for Action Medical Research, a charity for sick and disabled children throughout the UK.

This was the ultimate biking challenge! Riding day and night around the Dunsfold Test Track in Surrey, testing our boys speed, stamina, tactics and endurance. 330 riders took part with 81 teams and 5 solo riders.

Kevin Warne a Lead Air Conditioning and Chiller engineer at Birdsall Services organised two teams of four to complete this mammoth 24 hour bike ride round the track. Thanks to Kevin for all his hard work in organising this event.

The race started at 12pm on Saturday with the boys getting off to a good start, however the wind was relentless and didn’t let up all day and night ensuring this wasn’t going to be an easy challenge to complete, however the free food and massages went a long way to reviving our guys.

Congratulations to Paul Birdsall (Managing Director), Kevin Warne, Mark Taylor, Chris Ward, Steve Orlando, Lee Duffy, Steve Maloy & Andy Smith on completing the 24 hour cycling relay. We managed to raise over £2600 for Action Medical Research. Thanks to everyone who helped us raise this sponsorship and family, friends and colleagues who came to support our cyclists.
