Race for Life 2010
The Birdsall girls took part in this years Race for Life, held at Cassio Park in Watford on Sunday 27th of June. Sunday was a day of rarity with brilliant blue sky’s and lots of sunshine, probably the only day of the year the girls were wishing for showers and cloud.
The Birdsall girls half heartedly participated in the warm up, and eagerly joined the masses at the start line. We all got off to a good start, with a few storming off in front and leaving the rest of us behind. The ones lagging behind soon caught up and everyone found their own pace to complete the 5k.
Dehydrating, aching and out of breath we all crossed the finishing line in good times. This is when we all reflected we probably should have warmed up properly before running.
The day ended with ice creams and everyone went home in extremely good spirits. Thanks again to those who took part and those who came to support us. The Birdsall girls managed to raise over £500 for Cancer Research UK.
